The Visual Art Teacher for Primary Years is responsible for fostering creativity, imagination, and artistic expression among young learners. The role involves planning and delivering engaging art lessons that develop foundational skills while encouraging students to explore various mediums and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate visual art lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Introduce students to a variety of art forms, techniques, and materials (drawing, painting, collage, craft, etc.).
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of art.
- Display student artwork and organize exhibitions or art-related activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating art classroom environment.
- Assess and document student progress in line with school policies.
- Integrate art with other subject areas where possible.
- Ensure proper use and care of art materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with teachers and participate in school events and activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Education, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching experience with primary age students preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for working with young children.
- Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of child development and primary curriculum frameworks.
- Experience in organizing art displays, events, or exhibitions.
- Basic digital art or multimedia skills (desirable).
